How It Works

Here at NuBare Laser Tattoo Removal Clinic, we are not only responsible for your treatment but also for your pre and post-tattoo removal treatment care too.

We will do our best to make you as comfortable as possible and to ensure that the process goes smoothly; however, there are a few things that you can do to take care of yourself before we start.

Pre Treatment

You must ensure that your tattoo stays out of direct sunlight for at least two weeks before treatment, especially 48 hours before treatment. If you go out in the sun, use a sunscreen of SPF30 or higher. If your skin is affected by the sun, it will become more sensitive, cause extra pain and discomfort during the treatment, and can lead to hypopigmentation.

Similarly, avoid waxing or shaving the tattoo area or using any chemical creams on the area.

We advise the patient to stop smoking at least four weeks before the treatment as smoking reduces oxygen in your circulation, making healing slow and more painful.

You may use a numbing cream purchased from a pharmacy before the treatment, but it must be applied at least an hour before the treatment to allow it to work fully.

Post Treatment

You need to make sure that you don’t irritate the treatment area in any way. Wear loose clothing and avoid going into direct sunlight for at least two weeks post-treatment.

Once you get home, you can use a cold compress on the area but not directly on the skin, as you may cause an ice burn.

Avoid any vigorous physical activity for up to 48 hours.

Do not have a hot shower, sauna or spa, and avoid swimming for 48-72 hours.

Elevate the area above the height of your heart where possible.

Drink lots of water and rest up.

FAQs

HOW PAINFUL IS GETTING A TATTOO REMOVED?

Removing a tattoo is far less painful than getting a tattoo. It’s a common misconception that tattoo removals are more painful; there is some level of discomfort, but if you can get a tattoo, then you can manage it being removed.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE-EFFECTS THAT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

Our head technician holds a Bachelor’s in Science and specialises in skin. We ensure all of the proper protocols are used based on the tattoo and the patient’s skin tone, all of these side effects are temporary. Side effects are skin redness, tenderness, and swelling; these effects typically subside within a day or two following treatment. Blisters may appear within 24 hours of treatment, but this is completely normal. Some clients experience scabs, bruising, and blistering which may take up to a week or longer to heal.

HOW MUCH DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL COST?

Our Laser Tattoo Removal starts at as little as $50 but the price will depend entirely on your tattoo. Smaller tattoos are easier to remove, while larger and more colourful tattoos may take a bit more time and energy. Either way, our staff will work out a price for you during your free initial consultation based on your individual tattoo.

We also offer patients a 20% discount if 6 or more treatments are paid in advance. There are often other discounts being offered so keep an eye out on social media to be the first to hear about our exciting specials.
